Egidio is the top tier wine from Luca Bosio Vineyards and named after its founder, this is a drop not to be missed. Egidio began what is today known as Luca Bosio Vineyards, on a small plot of land in the heart of the Langhe in 1967. Since then, the company has grown to encompass over 500ha of land in and around the region where they produce their wines. The grapes for the 2019 were taken from Barbera d’Alba, a small DOC nestled in the hills of the Langhe valley.
As per DOC requirements, this wine is made from 100% Barbera, a grape known for its cherry like flavour and aroma. We suggest pouring this one into the glass about 20 minutes before drinking to fully allow the flavours to be released. Its drinking well now and will do into 2025. Enjoy!
Egidio was the founder of the Bosio’s farm and a profound expert of the wines of that area. The preparation of this wine starts in the vineyards, with a selection of the best matured grapes. After the pressing, the fermentation, and this wine is rapidly put in big wood barrels for complete the malo-lactic process and then in barriques for around 1 year.
